Workgroups

Families and Youth Workgroup  Seek affordable housing development opportunities including section 8 vouchers; explore barriers; develop contacts; coordinate with education systems (i.e. board of education); outreach to runaways; outreach to youth aging out of foster care system to prevent homelessness, explore employment development opportunities; explore rapid re-housing resources; and coordinate project homeless connect events for families and youth.  Frequency of meetings range from monthly to quarterly.

Single Adults, Chronically Homeless, and Veterans Workgroup  Seek affordable housing development opportunities including section 8;  HUD VASH vouchers; explore barriers; explore employment development opportunities; seek to develop more PSH beds for veterans with disabilities; explore rapid re-housing resources; and coordinate project homeless connect events for single adults.  Frequency of meetings range from monthly to quarterly.

Advocacy and Public Education Workgroup  Update the GNRAEH website; conduct educational forums throughout the region to outreach to the towns as outlined in the mission; legislative advocacy; explore the development of an annual legislative breakfast; conduct annual Housing Forum; coordinate annual open meetings; and recruit new members.  Frequency of meetings range from monthly to quarterly.

Funding and Resources Workgroup  NOFA application including issuance of Continuum RFQ process and rating/ranking subcommittee; explore various private and public funding including preparing responses to other RFPs & RFQs; coordinate monthly guest speakers to learn of resources/collaborations; set aside standards for all new housing developments; and develop collaborative opportunities with HANH including the use of section 8 vouchers.  Frequency of meetings range from monthly to quarterly.
 

HMIS Workgroup  Data management and coordination with Nutmeg/GTI; AHAR; PIT count (subcommittee); housing inventory.  Frequency of meetings range from monthly to quarterly.
